About Us

ADPAC aims to transform Chinas aquaculture sector through digital industrialisation.

Urgent development is currently needed in the Chinese aquaculture sector. Aquaculture operation is extremely labour-and resource-intensive, with figures 20 times higher when compared to Europe. Combined with an aging workforce, the sector is becoming unsustainable.

Focusing on digital precision, ADPAC addresses the economic development of China by providing scalability and efficiency. It will transform traditional small-scale, labour-intensive production to an industrialised highly efficient one. Working conditions, food safety, environmental impact and resource consumption can all be improved through monitoring and automation using digital technologies.

UOS has the world-leading 5G research based in the 5G Innovation Centre that has received over £80 million funding in the past 5 years. At the same time, UOS has expertise in data analytics and modelling, data-driven process control and optimisation. Interaction between these two areas has also resulted in recent work in industrial internet-of-things funded by the EPSRC and through several industrial PhD/EngD projects (including one with PEL). A 5G-based prototype IoT system is being developed on a pilot scale manufacturing process, a £1.5M facility co-funded by ExxonMobil and the University. The 5G Innovation Centre is equipped with all necessary hardware and software facilities for this project.

The Guolian Nansan shrimp Factory Farming Demonstration Base is located in the southwestern part of the Nansan Island Tourist Area, one of the top ten most beautiful islands in Guangdong Province. It faces the east coast of Zhanjiang Bay and Pacific Ocean. It has superior geographical and water quality environment.

The Nansan Base covers an area of 66ha, with the international SGS as the construction standard. In 2008, it passed the Inspection qualification of the provincial-level shrimp seed multiplication farm in Guangdong Province. In 2011, it was awarded the title of “lobal Shrimp Model Base” and also passed the qualification examination of the Ministry of Agriculture. In 2003, it became a national breeding farm for shrimp. The construction project for Nansan Base factory farming has two phases. The first phase of the project has been completed and put into operation in 2016, which is  one of  the largest  and most advanced shrimp factory farming in China. Th Base has different kinds of equipment such as Micro-filters, protein Skimmers, bio-filter, are used for the water recirculating aquaculture, which significantly Improves the utilization of pond water and biosecurity. The second phase started at 2019, based on the advanced farming concept of “Phased Farming and Digital Agriculture”, and equipped with Intelligent Feeding Machine, Multiparameter Water Quality Online Detection System, Underwater Intelligent Imaging System and INtellignt Temperature-Controlled RAS Circulating Water System to achieve smart shrmp farming with 5G.

Laizhou mingbo aquatic co.,Ltd is a high-tech enterprise specialized in the development of marine fish and shellfish, healthy ecological breeding and the construction of marine pasture. The company was founded in 2000, the registered capital is 30 million yuan, covers an area of 300 mu, the sea area of 125,000 mu, the factory breeding and aquaculture area of 60,000m2, the staff of 200 people. At sea, we have built 200 steel cages, 40 recreational and seawear-resistant breeding cages, and one large pipe pile ecological seine net with a circumference of 400 meters, with a water body of 470,000m3. We are building an intelligent leisure seine net with a perimeter of 160 meters. We are now the national semi-smooth tongue sole original breeding farm, the national modern fishery seed industry demonstration farm, the largest grouper breeding base in north China, the only Spotted knifejaw Oplegnathus punctatus breeding base in China, etc. We breed and promote 10 million larvae such as grouper, Spotted knifejaw and half-smooth tongue sole every year, and carry out ecological breeding of high-quality commodity fish by land and sea for 1,000 tons annually, which are sold well in China, Japan and South Korea. We are building a modern agricultural clam industrial park in laizhou city, and building a breeding, marine bottom sowing culture and deep processing base for clams.
